Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, says the Government will ensure that more emphasis is placed on the teaching of Civics in school, to counteract the many values being presented to the society.
The Government is insistent that no child, particularly at the secondary level, should be denied access to education, prompting its decision to remove auxiliary fees for these institutions.
Forty teachers, who have contributed significantly to the development of education in Jamaica, will be honoured with the Prime Minister’s Medal of Appreciation.
