Cabinet has approved the formulation of a National Identification System Policy for Jamaica.

Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, has assured that adequate funds have been disbursed to support the operations of high schools islandwide for the 2016/17 academic year.

Education, Youth and Information Minister, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, has lauded Western Carolina University for its long and distinguished service to Jamaica’s education sector.

The Government has committed $30 million towards a three-year programme to furnish schools with medical equipment, including stretchers, as part of emergency plans at the institutions.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information has established a Corporate Finance Committee to improve its financial management system.
