Since the introduction of the Career Advancement Programme (CAP) six years ago, approximately 48,301 students have been trained in technical and vocational skills as well as 5,622 through the General Programme of Literacy and Numeracy.

The Ministries of Health, and Education, Youth and Information will be partnering to more effectively serve children with special educational needs. Education Minister, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, said the intervention, which is targeted for implementation in September, will provide for earlier detection of children with learning disabilities and disorders, and to address those issues before they enter the formal education system.
